Nabou Claerhout (°1993 Antwerp) is a Belgian trombonist, componist arranger and Educator. Nabou finished her bachelor at Codarts (Rotterdam) and continued her studies at The royal academy of music (Londen) and Codarts for her masters. From a very young age Nabou had the change to work and play with (inter)national musicians as Bert Joris, John Rocco, Dave Holland, Dave Douglas, Evan Parker, Jules Buckley, Jeroen van Herzeelen, Ilja Reijngoud, Bart van Lier, Andy Hunter, Akua Naru and many more. She also participate in many ensembles like the Ghent youth jazz orchestra, National Yought Jazz Orchestra (Winner of ‘De Zilver Notenkraker 2016’), Metropole Academy, Jong Metropole, Not so bigband. In 2014 Nabou played for the first time at the North sea Jazz festival this get followed with concert at the Bimhuis, the London jazz festival, Brussels Jazz Weekend, Luisterplein (Gentse feesten), de Roma, Gent jazz, LantarenVenster, Gateshead International Jazz Festival as wel as touring in the UK and Japan with some bigbands…
Later in 2016 she formed her own project NΔBOU. This Four-pieced band is a collection of musicians she played with over this several years. They play all compositions from Nabou Claerhout. This is a project where Nabou Claerhout share all her inspirations and love for music via the compositions and the chemic you see happening between the musicians
