Elam is a Jazz double bassist and composer. Originally from Israel, Elam is currently living and working in New York City - which is the worldwide center for Jazz music and culture. Elam graduated from the New school for Jazz and Contemporary music, which gave him the opportunity to study with the likes of: Reggie Workman,Ingrid Jensen, Joann Brackeen,David Wong,Gregg August as well as bass legend Orin O’Brien and many others. Elam has performed internationally in ern, Berlin, Belgrade, Marseille, Vienna, Lublijana, Klagenfurt, Rostov, Zagreb, Krakow, Prague and many other places. Elam has performed at the Famous Red Sea Jazz Festival twice with the Yuval Cohen Sextet and the JT and the magnificent soul big band, as well as at Carnegie Hall,Alice Tully Hall,Marseille Jazz festival,Bern Jazz Festival,Tel Aviv Jazz festival, Smalls Jazz club and many others. Elam is currently working on his own music and playing around NYC and worldwide with different groups.
